We’re really excited to be working with Sharrow Community Forum on the refurb of Highfield Adventure Playground & Community Building. We recently held a couple of consultation meetings with the local community and stakeholders to talk through our plans and get their feedback.
The existing building is a community use building attached to the adventure playground in Mount Pleasant Park. In it’s current form, the building has no relationship with the rest of the park and is only accessible through the adventure playground. We’re replacing the existing building with a purpose-built , 3 storey facility with improved access, additional space for community activities and a better park face.

Collaborating with the local community
The local youth group who use the building were able participate in the design from an early stage. It was great to have an interactive session with them to understand how the building is currently used and find out what they’d like to see in the new building and playground.
Following the youth group consultation, we held an open forum for affiliates and stakeholders to spread the word about the development get more practical feedback on the design.
It’s in for Planning
Our proposals have now been submitted for planning and we’re really looking forward to taking the project forward once planning is hopefully approved. .
