We’re looking for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant or Junior Technologist to join our residential architecture practice in Sheffield.

About the role
You’ll support a range of private residential projects across all RIBA stages. Our work includes whole-house transformations, low-energy retrofits and one-off homes.
Working closely with our Architects, you’ll contribute to design development, planning packages, technical drawing work, modelling and project coordination. You’ll also have opportunities for site visits, client exposure and learning about project delivery from concept through to construction.
As a small team, everyone contributes to the success of projects and the business. We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and excited to develop both their design and technical skills in a collaborative environment.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is enjoys both design and delivery, and who is keen to develop their experience within the private residential sector.
You’ll likely have:
- An accredited Part 1/Part 2 qualification in Architecture, or relevant Architectural Technology qualification
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with clients, consultants and team members
- Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines through good planning and organisation
- Evidence of thoughtful, well-designed work and attention to detail
- Confidence building relationships with others
- A proactive approach – you spot issues early and take action – and a willingness to learn
- An interest in sustainability and low-energy design
- Proficiency in Vectorworks (or similar 3D BIM software) and Microsoft Office (or similar)
- A full driving licence

It would be great if you also have
- Previous private residential experience
- Experience working in a small to medium-sized practice
- Knowledge of the Passivhaus methodology and PHPP
- Strong sketching skills and the ability to communicate ideas clearly
- Experience working directly with homeowner clients and managing those relationships well

This is a full-time position, however, part-time hours would be considered to accommodate the ideal candidate.
