Our Favourite way to enjoy the summer evenings

Alasdair

I’ve been trying to make the most of the long evenings by getting out for walks to explore my new area in Sheffield. I’ve been discovering the cool and shaded Whiteley Woods, as well as the allotments in Bingham Park.

Paul

A fantastic summer evening activity is wandering around Kelham Island and Neepsend taking pictures and popping into the occasional bar/pub for a hazy pale ale.

Owais

I’ve been spending my evenings eating fish and chips with friends up at The Bolehills. It’s a great place to sit and take in the views across Sheffield, while watching the sun go down.

Alan

In my opinion, the best place to spend any summer evening is Bolehills BMX track in Sheffield. The track is brilliant fun for all levels and a great place to unwind after a tough day. And it’s even better at sunset, if the sun is shining then you’re guaranteed a beautiful end to the day.

It’s all run by volunteers who put in a huge amount of time and effort over the winter. We’re lucky to have such an amazing track in Sheffield.

There’s no better way to spend a summer evening than by the water. I love getting out for a walk along a river or a trek round one of the many amazing reservoirs we’re blessed with near Sheffield. My favourite summer evening recently was spent sailing off the coast of Dumfries and Galloway.

Sam

My favourite way to enjoy a summer evening is cooking on the BBQ and enjoying a nice cold beer.

Claire

My favourite thing to do on summer evenings is ride my road bike around the Peak District.

Nathan

As a creature who feels the cold, summer is one of my favourite times of the year to venture out in the peaks. This photo captures the warmth of the sunset across Hope Valley, enjoyed with the honey scent of the heather and a bottle of (now slightly warm) Old Mout cider.

Liam

My fave way to spend summer evenings is dreaming about Leeds winning the Premier League during that agonising wait for the new season to start. Optimism is never higher than those weeks and days leading up to the opening game. In my experience, its best to drink it in whilst the feeling is still there as it never takes long to dissipate as you go on to lose to the likes of Brighton or Bournemouth.

Julie

Our little shaded play area in our garden has been a great hit this summer. Perfect spot for having an ice-cream while reading picture books!

My favourite way to spend a summer evening is sleeping outside in my tent or new bivvy bag. I love being able to decide at the last minute to head out to the peak district if it’s a nice evening.
